There have been at least 10 seasons and, during all those years, the largest tuna ever caught by any of the show's participants was a 1,250-pound bluefin tuna off the coast of Cape Cod. Brad Krakowski's biggest catch weighed 920 pounds, while Dave Marciano's fish reached 1200 pounds and 118 inches. The largest ever captured, recorded, was that of Ken Fraser in Nova Scotia.
The tuna he pulled out weighed a whopping 1,496 pounds. In an interview with Food %26 Wine, the captain of the boat Wicked Tuna, TJ Ott, stated that the program does “a good job of showing the difficulties of working as a commercial fisherman. Kiyoshi Kimura bought the 278 kg (612 lb) bluefin tuna, which is an endangered species, at the first auction of the new year at the new Tokyo fish market.
One of the favorite OG fishermen in the series is Tyler McLaughlin, an expert in tuna fishing and a native of New Hampshire. No one knows this better than the cast of Wicked Tuna, who have been forging the biggest fish for thousands of dollars for years. That was easily one of the most impressive fish the crew caught, as evidenced by their enthusiasm to see it come out of the water.
